Medicare CDBS to continue into 2017.
Cap restored to $1000 per child
The government has announced that the Children Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) will continue in 2017. The CDBS provides access to dental services to children aged 2-17 yrs of age and is available to families that receive Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government Payment.
In February 2017 the Government announced that it would restore the cap to its original figure of $1000.
Services available to children under the CDBS include:
- Check ups, cleans, fluoride treatments (every 6 months)
- Fissure sealants
- Root canal treatments
A notification of eligibility will be sent to the child’s parent/guardian either electronically, or by post.
