Medicare CDBS
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) provides access to dental services to children aged 2-17 yrs of age and is available to families who receive Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government Payment.
Dental services are capped at $1000 over two consecutive calendar years. The two-year calendar period starts when the child or teenager first receives an eligible service.
Services available to children under the CDBS include:
- Check-ups, cleans, fluoride treatments (every 6 months)
- X-rays
- Fissure sealants
- Fillings
- Root canal treatments
- Extractions
The CDBS doesn’t cover orthodontic, cosmetic dental work or dental services provided in hospital.
